In 2006, Craig and Graham set up The Local Wine Company, an independent wholesale business supplying mainly wine to accounts in and around Greater Manchester and Liverpool. This was a natural progression following their success as Corks Out, a small chain of retail outlets across the North West.
As the business grew, they added more products and categories to their portfolio and began selling draught products such as Furstenberg Pilsner and Weihenstephan Hefeweiss.

Recent years have seen the introduction of soft drinks, spirits, craft kegs, and cask ales resulting in the fully composite wholesaler they are now. With the natural evolution of the business it became clear that The Local Wine Company had outgrown its name and a change was needed…First Drop Wholesale helps encompass all aspects of the business and leaves room for The Local Wine Company name to be used to continue a successful home delivery wine service that was created as a result of the first Covid lockdown.
The focus for Craig and Graham has always been to offer a professional but personalised service, working with customers to maximise opportunities within each individual and unique account. Offering tutored tastings on wine, Tap Take Overs with beers and other activation events are just some of the reasons customers choose First Drop as their preferred supplier. As a small yet rapidly growing wholesaler, when you place an order or receive a delivery you will always know who you are dealing with; Ant and Brad out on the road 6 days a week, John in the office or Craig and Graham, out and about.
